These small 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm plug adapters have 4-pole wiring, and are especially wired to allow owners of headphones such as Apple iPod / iPhone ear phones or Native Union Moshi Moshi Retro handsets, to be used with other brands of mobile telephone (not just with Apple iPhones).

Without this device, iPhone / iPod / Moshi Moshi earphones & headsets used on Sony Ericsson Xperia phones, recent Nokia phones, and also Samsung Galaxy S mobile phones, your audio signal will appear garbled or distorted, and largely unusable.

But with this adapter device connected between your compatible mobile telephone with 3.5mm audio jack (see full list below) and your existing 3.5mm ear-phones, you’ll be able to enjoy your music / audio / conversations once again.

Please note that audio/music control features may or may not be supported between different brands of headsets / earphones, and different brands of mobile telephone handsets, due to proprietary phone designs (i.e. the phone manufacturer wants you to buy their earphones!). Audio/music control features send signals down the headphone wires, and the phone manufacturers choose whether their phone handset will interpret these signals correctly or not (we cannot fix this!). • It is recommended that Samsung Galaxy S2 users are upgrade their phone’s firmware to the latest version, to fix the audio output issues. Please consult your phone’s manufacturer or manufacturer instructions, for performing this process.

‘Pre testing’ a phone handset in readiness for an TRRS adapter

Your head-phones / ear-phones needs to have a 3.5mm plug, and your mobile telephone needs to have a 3.5mm jack. If your headset and phone do not have a 3.5mm plug / socket, then this product alone is not suitable.

To test your phone (before you buy this product at our online store), simply plug your existing 3.5mm headphones into your mobile telephone’s 3.5mm jack. Now play an audio / music file. If the audio sounds like it is muffled, has echoes, or simply isn’t clear, try pressing the mute button. If this clears up the audio, then this product will most likely work for you!

They alert us to over temp warning in our Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane server rooms, where we can take action and monitor the temperature via our Blackberry or our website [Ed: screen shot below].

It has saved us trips into the office as we have often been able to get security to reset aircon – we can then monitor it without making a trip in.

In general, most customers want the TH2E units with ‘event memory’ and temperature/humidity logging. But if you require SNMP (e.g. for Nagios, NetSaint etc.) or if you require ModBus functionality for a specific application in your organisation, please mention this when ordering a TH2E.

To setup the TME Ethernet Thermometer, or TH2E Intelligent Sensor with a supplied Power over Ethernet (PoE) adapter, follow these steps, depending on which model adapter you have:

For the black-colour PoE adapter:

• Ensure the adapter is set to output at ’5 Volts’ (do not run the adapter at any other voltage, otherwise damage will occur to your thermometer).
• Plug your beige (or gray) Ethernet network cable to the network port on your wall (or directly into your PoE-enabled Network switch) at one end, and the other end into the PoE adapter “Data In” port
• Connect the custom power lead from the PoE adapter to your TME’s / TH2E’s 5v power socket
• Take the black “Data out” lead from the PoE adapter, and plug this into your TME / TH2E device’s Ethernet socket
• Your TME or TH2E should now be networked and powered via PoE, without using the standard power supply unit (PSU)

For the silver-colour PoE adapter:

• Ensure the adapter is set to output at ’5 Volts’ (do not run the adapter at any other voltage, otherwise damage will occur to your thermometer). Plug your beige (or gray) Ethernet network cable to the network port on your wall (or directly into your PoE-enabled Network switch) at one end, and the other end into the PoE adapter “Data In” port
• Connect the custom power lead from the PoE adapter to your TME’s / TH2E’s 5v power socket
• Take the additional network patch lead/cable, and plug one end into the “LAN out” socket on the PoE adapter. Plug the other end of the lead into your TME / TH2E device’s Ethernet socket
• Your TME / TH2E should now be networked and powered via PoE, without using the standard power supply unit (PSU)

TH2E Ethernet Temperature Humidity sensor

The Temperature and Humidity (+ Dew-point) TH2E Ethernet thermometer models are now in stock, and ready for next-day dispatch. Perfect for monitoring server room environments, cool stores, factories, warehouses, offices etc. Complete with email alerts (inc. email to SMS capability), web-interface etc.

To test your Ethernet Thermometer, simply lower the acceptable temperature ranges, to a temperature around room temperature, or a temperature that is currently lower than what is shown on your TME or TH2E (Ethernet Thermometer). You should now receive your email based alerts about the temperature event.

Just remember to re-set your temperature sensing range afterwards, and add any new thermometer email addresses into your Anti-SPAM system.
